Christina Moore – Life, Career and Evolution

Christina Moore, an American actress, comedian, fashion designer, model, and playwright, was born on April 12, 1973. During its sixth season, she played Candy Sullivan on Hawthorne, Laurie Forman on That ’70s Show, and was a member of the core cast of the sketch comedy series MADtv. She appeared frequently in the hit Disney programs Jessie and 90210.

Early Years

Moore was born in Illinois’s Palatine. She got involved with kids at her family’s church when she was a little girl and developed an interest in performance. She went on a Chicago-wide tour with a children’s musical theatre group as a high school senior.

Her first paid position was as a summer stock performer in Young Abe: the Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Outdoor Musical Play in Lincoln City, Indiana. She played parts in the plays Annie, Cinderella, and Big River. Carroll Moore is her father, while Joy Moore is her mother. She has a sibling who is younger.

Career

Moore relocated to Los Angeles to further her acting career after earning her degree from Illinois Wesleyan University School of Theatre Arts. She has been on several television shows, including the drama Hyperion Bay and the UPN comedies The Bad Girl’s Guide and Pasadena and Unhappily Ever After. She has also had guest appearances on Friends, 24, Just Shoot Me!, and Suddenly Susan.

In 2002, Moore became a featured performer for the eighth season of MADtv, where she was known for her impersonations of Brittany Murphy, Christina Aguilera, Shannon Elizabeth, Sharon Stone, and Trista Rehn. She is one of two former MadTV cast members who has joined the That ’70s Show ensemble, along with Josh Meyers.

Moore played the Beautiful Lady in the “Twisted” episode of Married… with Children (1996). At the end of the ninth season, she left MADtv to join the cast of That ’70s Show. On the sitcom, she took over Lisa Robin Kelly’s role as Laurie Forman in the sixth season. She played the lead in the television show Hot Properties in 2005, which featured 13 episodes. She also had roles in Dave Barry’s Comprehensive Guide to Men and Without a Paddle. She additionally had an appearance in the episode “The Soil is Moist” of Two and a Half Men as Cynthia Sullivan (2008).

On Two and a Half Men, she portrayed Alan Harper’s go-between. As Tracy Clark, Naomi Clark’s seductive and cunning mother, she debuted in 2008 in a recurring role on The CW’s 90210. Also, she reads a number of audiobooks, such as Yellow Star and the Young Wizards series by Diane Duane. She played Candy Sullivan in the main cast of Hawthorne. Moore is a founding member of Bitches Funny, an all-female sketch troupe that has been active for five years in both New York City and Los Angeles. She additionally played the mother of the Ross children, Christina, in the Disney Channel series Jessie and Bunk’d as well as Tammi, Tawni’s mother, in Sonny with a Chance and Vanessa Baxter’s vacant-headed character in Sonny with a Chance.
